11-Year-Old Yemeni Girl Nada Al-Ahdal run away video goes viral

A Youtube video about an 11 year old Yemeni Girl named Nada Al-Ahdal is going viral.  Nada Al-Ahdal ran away to her uncle and away from her family, for protection against forced marriage.  Forced marriages are a common thing in the middle east, especially in Yemen. Look at the photos below of real child brides in Yemen standing, it disgusts me to see these pictures. Good thing Nada escaped or she could have ended up like these girls in the photos below.

*Picture* Nada-Al Ahdal with her uncle Abdulsalam al Ahdal.  I am glad she found her uncle, and I hoe he protects her from forced marriages.

National Geographic also covered this in one of their magazines.

The issue of Yemen’s child brides got widespread attention three years ago when an eight-year-old girl boldly went by herself to a courtroom and demanded a judge dissolve her marriage to a man in his 30s.
