Best Smart Phones 2017

Phone
Nine years since the launch of Android, we can definitely say that android has come a long way. From the first version of android gingerbread (2.3.0), to the current version of android noughat (7.0.1), time has changed a lot. Here are my top 10 smart phone picks from 2017 and there is no specific price range.

  • Samsung Galaxy S8

The Samsung galaxy S8 is a successor of the galaxy S7 which was launched last year. The highlighting point about this device is its different screen aspect ratio (18:5:9) which certainly looks stylish and premium. It is powered by the Exynos 8895 gpu which is an octa processor based on the 10-nm architecture and comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage and sports a 6.2-inch screen. The only negative point about it is that since it has a glass back, it is prone to scratches. It is sold in India for 57000 INR.

  • One Plus 5

One Plus caught the attention of the people when it launched the One plus 3 and since then, it has never looked back. One Plus arguably offers one of the best price to performance ratio. It sports premium specs like the snapdragon 835 processor, 8Gb of RAM, 3300 mAh battery, and the blazingly fast dash charger. It is one of the most fluid android devices out there. It has a dual camera setup in which one is the normal lens and one is a telephoto lens for a 2x zoom. The camera performance is also good one this device if we talk about outdoor lighting conditions. But in indoor lighting conditions, as it does not have any optical image stabilization, photos can come out to be shaky. Also, you can clearly notice that the back of this device resembles that of that the iPhone 7.

  • LG G6

The LG g6 is another flagship which is priced around 50,000 in India. It runs the snapdragon 821 chipset clocked at 2.35 ghz,4gb of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. This one also sports a dual camera setup and just like the previous LG devices, it also has a great camera. But unlike the One Plus 5 the dual camera on this device can be used to take a wide angle shot. The rear facing camera is spectacular but the front facing camera is not that good compared to other flagships like the Samsung galaxy s8 or even the Google pixel. Also as this phone has the snapdragon 821 chipset it does heat up a little bit with gaming. So overall, it is a very good handset except for the few cons that I mentioned.

  • Honor 8 Pro

The Honor 8 pro is priced for 30,000 in India and is sold online via Amazon. It is powered by the Kirin 960 processor, comes with6gb of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Again, the highlighting point of this device is the camera and this one also sports a dual camera setup. The first lens is a normal lens and the other lens has a monochrome sensor which will help the pictures to come out better and the camera is really amazing for the price. The negative aspects of this device are that it does not support any kind of image stabilization for 4k videos and Honor is quite slow with android updates.

  • Moto G5 Plus and Moto G5 s Plus

The Moto G5 and the g5 s+ are the successors to the Moto G4 and priced at around the Rs. 17,000 mark. Both these devices are popular for the camera that they offer at a such a low price. They run on stock android and hence the android updates are really quick. They come with the snapdragon 625 processor, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage and because of the snapdragon 625 processor, it is very battery efficient. The negative aspects of this device are that it does not have any compass sensor and the LED notification light is also missing.

  • Redmi Note 4

Since the launch of the Redmi 3s prime, Redmi has become a messiah for the customers with a low budget. This phone is arguably the best overall device that you can get under 15k.It comes with the battery efficient snapdragon 625 chipset,2,3 or 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage. The highlighting point about this device is its battery life (4000 mAh) and also the general performance of this device is satisfying. The biggest negative point about this device is that its camera is quite weak compared to other devices but this phone is better in terms of an overall package.
