How to Manage Your Time with Mobile Organizers and Reminders

By Disha | tech

We cannot imagine our lives without our cell phones. We have become addicted to them. Every day we check e-mails, browse the web, and read messages about dozens of times. But could you ever think that the mobile phone can be a lifebelt for you? If your day is overwhelmed with meetings and you have some troubles with the time management, don’t worry. Mobile calendars, alerts, and measuring apps are able to relieve you from a headache.

Mobile organizers and reminders can easily replace your personal assistant. If you had someone to plan your work schedule and remind you of the meetings, you don’t need them anymore. It is a waste of money. From now on, your mobile device will be your reliable assistant. You can forget about answering numerous questions, misunderstanding, and inaccuracy. This nightmare is in the past.

Mobile apps are very convenient to use. The cell phone is always at hand. What could be better? In case you’ve forgotten something, you can check out the calendar or reminder in a few seconds. You do not have to call anyone or switch a laptop on. There is only one thing to remember. Make sure that your cell phone is charged. Otherwise, you will remain with the pile of your tasks alone. And I’m afraid you won’t manage to cope with them.

I beg you not to say that you are still using a paper notebook to organize your tasks. No offense, but this is inefficient. Here you can write down your long-term goals and make notes on the business strategy development. That would be fine. But the paper notebook is not suitable for recording of the daily routine. Using it, you cannot be flexible. You cannot always take it with you on a business lunch or at the coffee shop, right? You may also forget your pen. Meanwhile, the time of the upcoming meeting could be changed at any moment. You won’t be able to write it down in your notebook so you can forget about it in a while. Do not rely on paper notebooks. You can get into trouble.

Mobile calendars and calculators are proven tools to save your time and solve certain tasks. They are very easy to use. Without exaggeration, even a child can quickly understand how to use the apps designed by nixsolutions. It’s not rocket science. So leave your worries behind in case you have them.

You do not need to keep dozens of small tasks in your head. You’ve got time to think of the more important things. Is it nearing the time for the important meeting? No problem. Your mobile phone will remind you about it. Just choose the reminder time in advance and wait for the signal. You don’t have to get stressed anymore since everything is under your control. You are the master of your life and your time. You can be completely sure that your work schedule is set up clearly and correctly. To avoid overlap, you can check it out easily whether you have a meeting at a certain time or not. A few seconds is enough to give a person the answer whether you’ll be able to meet them or not. Everyone appreciates the responsible people. This is crucial both for business and for daily life. Mobile applications will help you create or strengthen a reputation of the responsible person.

In addition, you don’t want to be known as a retrograde, do you? Technologies evolve at a great speed. So why not to get the most out of them? Several decades ago, entrepreneurs didn’t have access to mobile applications, since not each of them had a cell phone. At the present time, you are so lucky to have so many opportunities to manage your time and stay productive. Appreciate what you have. Watch for new mobile applications emerged. Choose those of them which seem the most comfortable to you.

Mobile organizers and reminders may be the real timesavers for you. With them, you can always be sure that you won’t forget anything. You will be able to organize your life in the most efficient and convenient way. Just keep your cell phone charged in order to have the constant access to the mobile apps you need.

5 Upcoming Phone Technologies That Might Just Revolutionize The World

By Shilpa | tech

upcoming technology

The pace at which technology is reshaping the world is only going to speed up in future. Many innovations which we believe would be in future, but unsurprisingly many of the innovations are here already or even in the previous years. Some of the revolutionary changes which are being developed or have been developed are:

They are the new hot trend. Masses just love to wear their smartphones on their wrist! In the rush to stand out from the bland crowd, the smartphones suppliers are innovating (or rather forced) new and stylish wearable. Not only smart watches fall into this category but the fitness band are also quite in demands nowadays. After Samsung gear, the Apple too has finally launched its first wearable smart watch.

Wearable or smartphone, whatever would be the Bypass Three Mobile tether blockmobile device of future. But they will require connectivity for sure. 4G is in market. Despite 4G itself being in nascent stage, many attentions are turning to 5G research and standards. Although many believe that rather than any innovation 5G would be just same as 4G with a faster speed. At this moment, 5G is just a series of proprietary trials conducted by industry.

The title is really exciting itself. How about controlling your own drone with your smartphone to capture a picture of your farmhouse from top? Sounds cool right? Until now drones have always been in news for wrong reasons. A drone can fly more quickly and cheaply than a helicopter. With a camera on board, it can be very useful. It can be used for emergency purposes when somehow the emergency would not be able to reach the accident spot on time, at such instances the paramedics on scene can talk to the hospital. Drones can also be used to deliver or collect grocery.

Toy remote control cars are very popular among kids. But innovators are trying to develop a technology which will enable us to control our cars without any driver. You would be able to control your car by using your smartphone as a remote control. Although such technology exists, still it is not viable and is not at all affordable by mass.

Virtual Reality which is also known as computer simulated multimedia is a computer technology that replicates an environment, real or imagined and simulates a user’s physical appearance and environment to allow for user interaction. Although VR usage in military training is not a new thing but the way it is reaching to masses(thanks to Samsung Gear and Google Cardboard), there is no doubt that soon even the Virtual Reality would reach the new Zeniths of innovations.

The future of mobile technologies is very bright for sure. In just next 5 to 10 years you will witness a huge and drastic change in mobile technologies which can be termed a revolutionary or world changing. These changes will not only transform our personal and home lives but our work lives as well.

10 Questions to Ask Siri for the Sassiest answers

By Disha | tech

All of you with Apple products out there already know what I speaketh of. The pain of getting Siri to answer civilly, without her usual condescending tone is phenomenal. From the way she pronounces your name (thanks to her, my friends have started calling me after a most distasteful root vegetable) to her snarky answers, Siri has got to be the sassiest lady out there. Here are ten questions that especially bring out her sass-

  1. Do I look fat?

Do yourself a favour and do not ask Siri this. Her reply will inevitably be “Judging from your voice, I’d say you must be fairly attractive." And then even though you can’t hear it, I’m sure you’ll be able to feel an evil “Ha ha ha" in the background.

  1. Do you believe in God?

Go ahead. Ask Siri this. And feel your eyes pop at her high-brow, nose-turned-up reply, “I eschew theological disquisition." What. Like…Siri. What.

  1. What is your favourite NFL team?

…And hear Siri get all condescending. Her reply is, “I always like to root for the underdog. I guess that makes me a fan of the Texans right now." Ha ha ha, anyone?

  1. Marry me?

Oh sweet Lord in Heaven! For the sake of your self-confidence and pride, do NOT ask this snarky lady to marry you. No? Well go ahead and hear her say, “You should know that you’re not the only one who’s asked." And if this isn’t enough to put a downer on you, ask her again and hear her say, “Let’s just be friends, okay?" Can anyone hear Koothrapali’s whiplash?

  1. What is Inception about?

Asking her about a movie before going to watch one is a terrible idea. She’ll put you off it for sure. She took a particular dislike to this one it seems, and answered, “ ‘Inception’ is about dreaming about dreaming about dreaming and dreaming about something or other. I fell asleep."

  1. What’s the Matrix 1999 about?

Here’s another movie Siri will ruin for you. Go ahead and ask her, and hear her drawl, “Well, there’s a red pill and a blue pill, and lots of black leather and guns. A sort of love story I believe." And then you go whaaaaa……

  1. So what’s up?

And Siri darl replies, “Helping Liam recycle batteries into cathode materials. Yes indeed." Okay. Siri-ously.

  1. What does Siri mean?

Don’t even get started on this. She replies (with the haughtiest of cadences) , “ ‘Siri has many subtle, metaphorical, and frankly contradictory meanings. None of which I am at liberty to discuss. Sorry about that." Um…sorry, Siri?

  1. Do you love me?

If you like yourself even a little bit, do not expose yourself to Siri’s ridicule, and ask her this question, only to hear her say, “Let’s just say…you have my utmost admiration."

  1. Do you have a boyfriend?

Don’t. Just. Don’t. She’ll go on a rant and say, “Why? So we can get ice cream together, and listen to music and travel across galaxies, only to have it end in slammed doors, heartbreak and loneliness? Sure. Where do I sign up?" And then find yourself apologising profusely.

So here are ten questions that will show you that sassy Siri is the shizz!

10 Coolest Hidden Features of Windows 10

By Christopher Benitez | tech , techlivewire , Technology

While the company was more than happy to tell us about a bunch of new features, they left a few for us to explore and find out. After all, we all love surprises! Here are some of the best things we found out while exploring the OS.

best hidden features of windows 10

Adjustable Start Menu:

This is customization at its best. Users can simply use the default column for the Start Menu or drag around the margins according to their liking. Some may prefer a broader canvas, while some want to reduce them to Windows 7 proportions; Windows 10 takes care of each of them equally!

Spoken Reminders:

The digital assistant Cortana, developed by Microsoft for Windows, can listen for spoken commands by the user. Accordingly one can save information in the calendar, mail or reminder!

“Hey Cortana:"

Just like Siri in iOS, the digital assistant Cortana can keep chatty users engrossed. You just have to switch on the Cortana’s settings and flip on “Hey Cortana", just to wake it up with the same command the next time.

Based on your searches and browsing history, Cortana attempts to decipher your personal tastes. However, this might not be reliable always. So, just hit the notebook icon in Cortana’s settings and fill your preferences directly.

Refined Searches:

The search bar in the Start Screen is customized to simultaneously search among your personal files as well as the internet. Two buttons appear when you search for a term, namely “My Stuff" and “Web", and you can choose according to your needs.

Forget-Me-Not Files:

Did you forget the name of the PowerPoint Presentation you prepared a month ago? No worries. Just type “.ppt" in the search bar, and Windows displays all saved .ppt files, which can be further sorted according to relevance and time. Same goes for Excel and Word as well.

Reading List:

Apart from adding a webpage to favorites list using the star icon in Microsoft edge, one can also use the second option present there to save a story to a “Reading List". This save the webpage for future reading purposes, whenever times permits you to.

One can find a pen and notepad icon in the upper left hand corner of Microsoft Edge. Once you hit it, the webpage goes into mark-up mode. You can then edit the markup using highlighters, text editors and further share it via e-mail.

Keyboard Shortcuts

There are some interesting keyboard shortcuts introduced along with Windows 10. The first is Win-Tab. This brings up Expose-like interface, so that you can switch between multiple desktops quickly. Additionally, in order to move between virtual desktops, simply press Ctrl-Win-Right or –Left. Windows 10 has made life really easy!

Makeover of Notifications

Windows never had a unified notification system. They were mostly constrained to small bubbles in the bottom right corner of the desktop screen. Windows 10 however places this bar in a more prominent position. Dropbox, as an example, now shows notifications in a larger pop up window placed at the upper right corner of the screen.

Windows 10 is surely one of the best OS to be developed by Microsoft, and these shortcuts further add to the beauty and mystery of the OS. These make it all the more cooler, for that geek in you to explore and enjoy!

5 Technological Inventions of 2015 that Changed the World

By Disha | tech , Technology

Necessity is the mother of invention. This saying is eternal. It is a necessity that transforms our thinking, and the inventions are born out of those thoughts which make our lives easier than ever. However, these inventions are impossible without the use of technology, another invention of mankind. In an ever changing world, technology is changing the way we live every moment, every day. That hasn’t changed in the year 2015 as well. The year saw many revolutionary inventions by corporates and scientists all around the world, which improved upon the lives of millions in a huge manner. Let us have a look at some of those inventions, and take out some time to thank them for their contributions.

Way back in 2012, a gentleman with cerebral palsy once requested the world-famous shoe manufacturer Nike to manufacture sneakers for people suffering with various disabilities. In the letter, he further elaborated by saying that they should be able to put them on and take them off with considerable ease and without others’ aid.

Nike obliged and finally this year announced its new line of footwear. Aptly naming it as Flyease, the shoes are provided with a zipper that extends to the back of the shoe, which is a boon for the disabled. Laces can be inconvenient for people with limited movement, whereas the zipper allows one to just peel it open using one hand and then slide your foot into the shoe with considerable ease.

Tobie Hatfield, the director of athlete innovation at Nike worked alongside and designed this unique invention along with Matthew Walzer, the gentleman who wrote the letter to Nike, to help in the development and the testing of the new array of revolutionary shoes.

It is quite surprising to know that more than 2.4 billion of the world’s population is deprived of access to basic and safe sanitation. What is even worse is that more than 660 million of the people throughout the world use unsafe water resources to meet their day-to day needs. Though there have been efforts from any organizations regarding this, nothing much has changed as is quite evident from the world around you.

Peter Janicki, the CEO of Janicki Bioenergy, has developed a machine known as the omniprocessor that has the ability to transform water from the sewerage into clean, potable water. Furthermore, it can also produce electricity and pathogen free ash in just a matter of minutes.

The idea is certainly revolutionary. The processor that he built can be a boon for developing countries, as it would provide them with clean water and energy, as well as create job opportunities and entrepreneurs who can run it various parts of the world, and contribute their bit for the society and the environment as a whole.

A lot of extensive research is being done to tackle HIV all throughout the world. In one such effort, scientists at Florida Atlantic University have successfully managed in-home testing of viruses and bacteria that include HIV, E.coli and Staphylococcus, by just using paper and plastic strips. These work together with a smartphone app that helps in recognizing the bacteria by looking at the images.

For example, in case of the test for E.coli, it is built using paper and printed with a mixture of gold and gold nanoparticles. In case there is any bacteria present, there is a color change in the strip which indicates a “positive" result. The HIV test uses plastic instead of paper, and follows a similar procedure. The scientists are currently working on trials, and if everything goes right this product might be commercialized by mid-2016.

In the areas in the Peruvian jungle, more than 42 percent of the rural population do not have electricity in their homes. This has been recorded by the National Household Survey in Peru, which is conducted by the National Institute of Statistics and Information.

This sad statistic inspired some of the students at Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología (UTEC), which is famous for developing innovative solutions for various problems to come up with a solution for this issue as well. Their efforts resulted in them creating the Plantalámparas, a lamp that runs on plants, or scientifically plant power and this revolutionary technology has been used to light up the small village of Nuevo Saposoa.

Let us see how it works and what plant power exactly is.

During photosynthesis, the waste produced by the plant is decomposed in the soil, which produces electrons as a result of the oxidation process. These free electrons are captured by the lamp using electrodes, and further sent into batteries for storage and later use. When fully charged, the stored energy is sufficient to light up LED bulbs in the lamps for up to two hours.

All wearable tech that is available in the market is just things that are meant for our entertainment; this wearable tech is of some real use and a serious one at that. Thinking out of the ordinary fitness trackers and smartwatches, Cyrcadia Health went a step ahead and has developed a bra that van be used to detect cancer!

The changing temperatures in the tissue are tracked by the internal patches that are present in the garment, and these changes can be indicative of tumor growth. According to the early trial results, 87 percent success rate was achieved in detecting the tumors using the bra, including in cases of dense breast tissue where the small tumor lumps might go undetected. The best part is that one does not have to wear the bra all the time; but is more of a natural and suitable screening method.

Preferable to the invasive products that women are subjected to these days, this is a highly necessary technological invention. The most important part, you can do it right in the comfort of your home!

Cybercrime is a Real Threat

By Disha | tech

Small and medium sized business are now amongst the most popular targets for cybercrime. Whilst they are not the most lucrative prizes, targeting them has become easier due to automation.
