How to Get More Kills in Fortnite Battle Royale

Fortnite battle

Have you been playing Fortnite Battle Royale for a while and still have a kill count that’s way lower than the times you’ve been eliminated in the game? It’s a common problem, and one that many people have had to struggle through. The reality is that the best players rack up tons of kills while the regular players struggle to get a 50:50 ratio.

If you’re looking to improve your kill rate and start getting better scores, rather than just trying to stay alive each game, this article could be for you. We’re going to look at how to get more kills in Fortnite Battle Royale.

Make sure your computer can handle it

If you lag out at the wrong point, you could suffer. Make sure you’ve got a good enough gaming computer to handle Fortnite without long loading times and skips. You’ll also need an internet connection with enough bandwidth.

Drop in at the end

One clever tactic that can get you a few kills right at the start, is to wait until you’re ejected from the bus at the end of its journey across the map. With 100 people playing every game, it’s not uncommon for a couple of people to have gone AFK in the waiting area. They might have gone to the toilet or to get a drink when the game starts, and you can use this to your advantage.

Drop out slowly and have a look around, don’t fly downwards until you’re sure someone else isn’t doing the same. Some others have started to use this tactic. When you’re sure that those other people dropping really are afk, you can fly downwards, find a weapon and wait for them. This could get you a couple of kills every map before the game has really started for you.

One other advantage of this tactic is that by the time you get into the game, there might only be 50 people left since loads of people always drop in at the start and get eliminated. You should be in a quiet spot where you can find some loot and get into the game.

Use the right weapon at the right time

Once you’ve got a few weapons to choose from, make sure you use the right ones in the right places. If you’re inside, or in close-combat areas, use the best shotgun you can find. If someone comes your way, try jumping and shooting.

If you’re running out in the open, switch to a longer distance assault rifle. These sort of weapons don’t work well when jumping, so don’t bother trying.

Don’t give your position away

One big mistake many Fortnite Battle Royale players make is that they build too many big structures. While it’s great being able to throw up a brick wall when someone spots you and you’re in the middle of a gunfight, don’t simply build something when nobody has seen you.

This is a surefire way to let people know where you are and you can use it to your advantage. If you stay stealthy, you can then spot other people’s bases that they’ve built. Simply fire a rocket or grenade at their base and you could get an easy kill.
