Amazon Music App Review

Are you a dedicated Amazon customer? Do you own an Amazon Prime membership?

Whether you are an Amazon Prime subscriber or not, you can now listen to high quality and original music at your fingertips. However, unlike a non-prime member, a Prime member can enjoy an ad-free service. If you are in the US, you can relish an ad-supported selection of top playlists and stations on compatible Alexa-enabled devices.

This app comes with tens of millions of songs, pre-programmed playlists and radio stations. You don’t need to download another app to listen to your favorite radio station.

Before moving forward, you should also know that Amazon Music Unlimited and Amazon Prime Music are two separate services. The later one is for Amazon Prime members and the first one for both Prime and non-Prime members.

About the Creator of Amazon Music

This app was previously known as Amazon MP3. Needless to say, it is owned and operated by the mighty Amazon itself. Since its inception in 2007, Amazon Music has made continuous improvements and also has changed the way the music industry functions. Amazon Music was the first music store to sell music without digital rights management.

Features of Amazon Music App

1) Listen to music from several genres: Amazon Music is neither confined to a particular type of music or nor to certain types of listeners. No matter how old you are or what taste you have (as far as the music is concerned), you can find plenty of entertaining content on this app.

2) Listen to songs before you buy them: Amazon Music gives it’s listeners a chance to experience and check the quality of a particular song before they make a decision to purchase it. Unlike other music streaming apps like SoundCloud, this app lets you listen to more than 40 percent of the song–before you buy it.

3) Your entire family can benefit from a single account: Amazon Music’s “Family Plan” lets you invite a family member (older than 13 years). A family member with a standard Amazon account can enjoy the content bought by you. All they have to do is create a separate playlist so things don’t get mixed up.

What I Like About Amazon Music App

I like the fact that Amazon lets it’s users track down artists that are unknown and are unheard of. No matter how weird the soundtrack you are looking for is, Amazon Music will present it to you. Plus, if you are a Prime member, you can enjoy the Prime Music service for no additional cost.

What I Don’t Like About Amazon Music App

The only downside of Amazon Music is there is no ad-free version for non-Prime users in the United States. Moreover, non-Prime users from other countries can’t even use the ad-supported version.

Basically, to make the most of this app you have to purchase at least Amazon Prime. This may not be so appealing for some users; as there are other services like iHeartRadio and TuneIn Radio offering free services for users from all over the world.

Amazon Prime members can join Amazon Music Unlimited for $7.99/month for a monthly subscription plan and $79/year for an annual subscription. For a non-Prime member, there is no other choice than to pay $9.99/month.
