Linux users will be able to download Edge from the Microsoft Edge Insider website next month, or through the linux package manager. It is not yet clear what day the Edge browser will become available for Linux. Microsoft also does not yet provide substantive details about the preview version. The bètaversion may not have all the functionality in the current versions for Windows and macOS.
Microsoft announced Tuesday during its Ignite event that Edge will be coming to Linux in October. In November last year, Microsoft spoke for the first time about a Linux version of its Chromium-based Edge browser. Earlier this year, Microsoft demonstrated the Linux version of the browser at its Build conference.
