Renders of what the Apple AirPods Studio would look like, an over-ear headset that’s been rumored for some time. The renders show a design without a 3.5mm jack with only a USB-C port.
Jon Prosser shows the renders and says in a video that it involves renders made from real images but recreated not to reveal the sources. One of those images came out Wednesday via a tweet from choco_bit.
The headphones have a removable headband and detachable ear pads. The attachment is magnetic. Moreover, the design is symmetrical: the headphones can decide which ear is left and right and adjust stereo sound accordingly. There are sensors in the auricles for that. Anyone who connects the headphones to a Mac or iOS device must have access to extended equalizer settings.
The renders show the headphones without a 3.5mm jack. Instead, only wired audio can be listened to through the USB-C port and gradient pieces, claims Prosser. Apple plans to release the headphones this fall. The most round price is $350. That’s in line with those of Sony and Bose’s Bluetooth headphones. Apple did not respond to the information
