Windows Phone 8 pin apps games or any stuff

With Windows Phone 8, you can pin pretty much anything you want: apps, songs, map locations, favorite websites, OneNote notes, contacts, and a lot more.  Windows Phone 8 is very flexible.  Here are quick tips on how to pin stuff to your start screen.

To pin a contact or Group

  1. On Start, tap People, then flick to All.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • Tap and hold the contact or Group you want to pin, then tap Pin to Start.
    • Tap the contact or Group you want to pin, then tap Pin Pin icon.

To pin an app

  1. On Start, flick left to the App list.

  2. Tap and hold the app you want to pin, then tap Pin to Start.

To pin a game

  1. On Start, flick left to the App list, then tap Games Games icon.

  2. Tap and hold the game you want to pin, then tap Pin to Start.

To pin a website

  1. Open the website you want to pin.

  2. Tap MoreMore icon, then tap Pin to Start.

To pin a map location

  1. On Start, flick left to the App list, then tap Maps.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • Type the location you want to find, tap the flag that identifies the location, then tapPin Pin icon.
    • Tap More More icon, tap Favorite places, tap a location you’ve saved to your favorites, and then tap Pin Pin icon.

To pin an album, playlist, artist, song, or genre

  1. On Start, flick left to the App list, then tap Music + Videos Music + Videos icon.

  2. Under Zune, tap Music.

  3. Flick to Artists, Albums, Songs, Playlists, or Genres.

  4. Tap and hold the artist, album, song, playlist, or genre, and then tap Pin to Start.

To pin your Favorites photo album

  1. On Start, tap Pictures.

  2. Flick to Favorites, then tap See all.

  3. Tap More More icon, then tap Pin to Start.

To pin any other photo album

  1. On Start, tap Pictures > Albums.

  2. Tap and hold the album you want to pin, then tap Pin to Start.

To pin an Office document or document location

  1. On Start, flick left to the App list, then tap Office Office icon.

  2. Flick to Documents or Locations.

  3. Tap and hold a document or location, then tap Pin to Start.

To pin a OneNote note

  1. On Start, flick left to the App list, then tap Office Office icon.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • Tap and hold the note you want to pin, then tap Pin to Start.
    • Tap Notebooks Notebooks icon, navigate to the page you want to pin, then tap Pin Pin icon.
    • Tap More More icon, then tap Pin new to Start. A new, blank note is pinned to Start.

To pin a folder from an email inbox

  1. Open the account that has the folder you want to pin.

  2. Tap More More icon > Folders.

  3. Tap Show all folders, tap and hold a folder, and then tap Pin to Start.

Tips

  • If you’d like to move a Tile somewhere else on Start, tap and hold the Tile, and then move it wherever you’d like.
  • To resize a Tile, tap and hold it, and then tap the Resize arrow until the Tile changes to the size you want.
  • To remove a Tile, tap and hold it, and then tap Unpin Unpin icon.
